Another point that I have a concern with is that some of the small
mills have only a morse taper spindle. A morse taper is designed for
drilling and has no drawbar to hold it into the spindle. Vibration
is one way to work it loose, and milling with a morse taper will
usually cause vibration.

My concern is that the tool holders will work loose when milling is
attempted. Do these machines have a modified morse taper that uses a
drawbar?

An R-8 (as used in bridgeports), while not as strong as some tool
systems seems to be a much safer setup for milling on a small machine.
