Note that the $500 160 Lb "mini-mill" is available with R-8 taper. I got
one of these for demos at NAMES, and it does work. The spindle is
hollow, and a standard drawbar is provided. A client of mine has one
of the bench mills with the dovetail slide for the head, and it also has
an R-8 taper and drawbar.
