Well, perhaps I shall give that a try then. The motors I got are
rated way higher than that, like 120v nominal. They are good size
motors. 1/3 HP. They weigh about 10 pounds a piece.
My other alternative is to build a regulated power supply, which I've
been looking into. Would have to be MOSFET based from what I can
tell. I don't think I can afford to use a Zener big enough to handle
the power.
What do you think about the motor situation? These are the reliance
Micro 100s talked about here last week. I went ahead and bought them.
Trusting soul that I am. The seller said he has plenty of people
using them successfully with Geckos. He seems like a good guy. Was
very prompt with e-mails, shipping, and the UPS tracking #. The
motors got here fine. Well packaged. They are in GREAT condition.
Sellers Quoted Motor Specs:
Back EMF Constant, ke = 68 V/kRPM
Torque Constant, kt = 5.75 lb-In/Amp
Nominal Speed Rating: 1750 RPM
Nominal Voltage Rating: 120 Volts
De-mag Current: 53 Amps
What's a good book on servo motors? If you know.
Well anyway, I think I'm going to go the parallel hookup route for
starters, just to get the motors turning and see what's what from
there. There's SO much to do. Thanks for the suggestion.
Thanks,
