The mains filter type I refer to can be bought as a sealed unit - normally
contains an RC network internally with ferrite cores etc, They are normally
between $10 to $25. They are nearly always rated at line voltage and get
larger depending on the amps (load) they can carrry. I suggested the use
to the previous poster as a belt and braces method, bit out of habit !!

They would not be a major benefit on a power supply that was JUST powering
servo motors - but would be more beneficial to 'clean up' AC line supplies that
end up powering DC supplies that power any kind of logic / computer circuitry.
In fact with our Rutex amps we use a totaly seperate PSU to operate the logic.

For the record, this type of low cost filter will not protect against ' Brown Outs'
or varying line voltages or high voltage transients.
