I'd use polycarbonate. It's tougher and doesn't scratch as easy.

Use a small submersible pump such as the ones used for fish ponds. Control it
from the PC via a solid state relay. A windshield washer pump would work too,
but needs a 12V supply.

The Sherline will be OK with regular soluble oil type coolants. It's the pump
diaphram you need to worry about with respect to coolant compatibility. The
pump will probably work fine with soluble oil, just stay away from
fluorocarbon bearing fluids like tapping fluids.
