Erie I just got a C&H catalog in yesterday. I will take a look and
also check their web site. They usually have some pretty good DC
motors that could be enticed to operate as servos. Some of the DC
motors have mounting holes and a rear shaft to be able to add
encoders. If you can find that you are pretty much there. I will
report back later. Seems to be lots of AC or brushless DC servos on
EBAY right now. The group over at OSMC have come up with some roll-
ur-own BLDC motor controllers. Is the gantry going to be greater
than 3 ft across? Are you considering dual drives (separate motor
and motor drivers) on the gantry?
