Howdy..
Vfd's are not very good with loads like transformers. I tried to
rewire the internal 3 phase boss transformers (steppers) to single
phase and worked on it for days. That is the main problem converting a
boss type machine to single phase. Other people are doing it somehow
thou. I see claims of that. I tried cutting the common armature bar in
between the 3 coils of the transformer. I nicked the windings and had
to trash it. I bought another transformer.
I totally redid the wiring in mine. Kept some of the boss wiring and
gutted the hardware. Even the cables out to the motors can be reused.
