Yes, of course, the Gecko 201A drives DO run hot at higher currents.
You need
large heat sinks with fan cooling for sure. I have a heat sink 8" by 4"
for 3 of them
running at just 3 A, and it needed a fan right on the heat sink or it
STILL got
hot. I was surprised at how hot they ran.
