Richard,
Are you sure the PID settings on the Y drive are the same as the other
two - or at least X? For my Rutex drives, when they were on my knee
mill, I found X & Y settings were very close, and Z was quite different
- due to the inertial load of the knee/saddle/table, Z couldn't
accelerate as quick as X or Y. If you have the PID settings too high,
that can lead to a motor getting too hot. I recall hearing some motor
growling noises too.
