the EMC has an add-on (runs w/o emc) called cpGui.tcl.
It's a G-Code generator with a conversational front end.
It is extensible, and as delivered has rectangular pocketing,
bores, radial knob engraving, and some hole patterns.
It's docs show how to add other macros.
I converted it from Gcode to Heidenhain code in an
afternoon and I am no Tcl/Tk wiz like Ray.
I've run it under W98&XP&Linux. It needs Tcl/Tk (about 7.5 meg dload)
and itself (less than 1 meg, heck less than 25K i think).
