Hi Shawn
I used the standard release of cncpro, which I'm still using. I like it
even though it's got a couple of "peculiarities". The board I built would
work with any step and direction type software. The Galil chips used were
GL-1200. They take step and direction input, along with the encoder
feedback and output +/- 10 volts to an analog servo amp. They have a PID
filter etc. I am very happy with the setup. The chips cost around $100
each (need one per axis) plus a few other bits and pieces and the labor to
build the board. May not be the most cost effective way to do this today.
