You most certainly can do sections though you would have to work out a
method of registration and effectively handling multiple setups.
As far as the sherline mill goes I would be reluctant to indicate
positively that it would be the best choice for the panel work. The
issue is that there are all sorts of possible panel material, some the
mill would handle fine the others may be a stretch.
For example years ago I happen to run into a panel that was stainless
(unknown to me at the time) a simple midification requiring a hole
drilled was next to impossible. That was a with a good size drill
press. It wasn't until afterward that I discovered that the panel was
stainless and the different approach required to doing something as
simple as boring a hole.
