Re: added laser cutter to my mill (pics)

My mill has a travel of about 30 inches by 16 inches. The laser can
cut balsa up to probably 3/8" thick or so. It will not cut steel (the
plasma would be great for that though). I have a much bigger CO2
laser (100 watts CW, 250 watts peak power pulsed) that might be able
to cut really thin steel. This 10 (17) watt laser would be perfect
for making airplane parts, the cuts are so incredibly clean and
perfect. It is really a joy to watch it cut. You are like "did it
do anything?" and then you lift up the wood and all the pieces fall
out. :-)
