Check out this site, you should get alot better response.

I've got an Emco Turn 120 CNC that I'm working on. Emco-maier usa
can be contacted from their website. Replacement control cards for
my machine were ~$3500/pc. OUCH. I'll bet your steppers would be
about $1000/pc :)

You need to replace both controls with a PC based control. Mach2
with it's lathe and threading capability should work nicely. Replace
the steppers with new steppers or retrofit with servos (what I'm
doing on my lathe, as it originally used steppers also). Gecko
drives for either steppers or servos, spindle control via DC drive or
AC drive (what is your spindle motor?). You can write a toolchange
macro in Mach2 for toolchanger functionality (doing this for mine
also), you just have to have enough IO available. Mail be direct and
tell me more. Good luck.
