Geckos seem to act that way until they get their first pulse. Then they hold
quite well. You have the hardware pulse generator for DeskCNC, right? I'm
not very familiar with it, so can't offer too much help there. Do you have
+5V hooked to the "common" terminal on the geckos? What happens if (with the
pulse controller disconnected, nothing connected to the step and direction inputs
of the gecko) you take a jumper and hook from ground (the same ground you got
your +5V that goes to the "common" screw terminal) and touch it to the "step"
screw terminal on the gecko?
