What kind of machine is it? What size are the motors? The diameter(s) will tell you the Nema classification. Like 4.2" dia is Nema 42 and 3.4" dia is Nema 34. How many in-ounce of torque etc. I wouldn't even consider upgrading an old control and would opt to retrofit a PC based control. The wide array of softwares that are now available are worlds ahead of the old "poke and hope" operating systems. I use Mach2 and I finally upgraded from version 1.2 to wersion 6.0 and I couldnt believe the vast improvements they've made in just a year. It was an excellent program already.
