I too am retrofitting a tree mill. The servo model numbers are different
from what I received with my Tree Mill Journeyman 300.
I received and incorrect manual with the machine. It shows that SD was for
the servo dynamics corp. The model number of the controls was SD1525. However
my machine was equipped with the western amp servos. If you want I can make
a copy of this manual since certainly some of the information will be
germane to his machine.
Most of those machines used 140VDc servo motors. If he has the BEI optical
encoders then he probably has the same problem with incandescent lamps for
read light sources. I fixed mine with a 40,000 hr replacement. Should last
me a fair bit of time :)
I'll check back and see what information I have on contacts. Email me off
line in a day or so and I'll locate the valuable sources and phone numbers.
