yes and no...

My EDM has a voltage reference on the Z and would work on a plasma
head with more programming.

I measure current and if it is above one setting, I feed the tip, it
it is below another setting, I retract the tip.

It is neat to watch the needles on the meters dance and jump and then
settle and just burn. I particularly like to watch the step counter
while it is just burning.


AVC is Arc Voltage Control and like THC is just an acronim for the
control of the axis.

Depending on the way you measure, it is measuring either voltage or
amps.

For EDM, it either controls the plunge, or for wire, the table feed.
