Deskncrt does support using the DRO card for stepper motor feedback using
encoders attached to the stepper motor.
I finally got around to modifying a stepper but have yet to test it -been
really busy lately. Soon.
I believe that even while Deskncrt may not in its current form be as good as
EMC it certainly is making progress and will solve the biggest problem with
EMC which is that the average home shop machinist would have problems
finding, loading and installing Linux, the patch and EMC.
Deskncrt eliminates that problem by using a dos OS. It is still difficult to
run but the last two versions seem to run really well without the encoders.
It has some quirks but for the first attempt I think that Carl is doing
great.
