Hi Chris,
I've had luck tapping derlin, it's a much harder plastic and wears well. I am using on regular thread stock and it's working out great. Here is the mill it's used on, but I need to post newer pics since I just finished it last night.

Has anyone had any luck (or experience) tapping UHMW plastic for use
as an ACME nut. I am looking to use 1/2-10 ACME threaded rod for a
lead screw. This will be in a very dusty enviroment, so I am
thinking I want the screw to run dry, thus, the desire for a UHMW
nut.
TIA!
Chris
