There's few working EDM circuits around. The rc generators yes, but
here's something closer to a commercial supply.

or , google for Redline if you wanna buy a real generator
( generator... an EDM power supply )
btw the dynamic characteristic of the light bulb as resistor is interesting.
bulbs were often a cheap way to get a big watt resistor
