Bridport Z axis knee how to

I have read many messages of happy campers that have used the knee on
a bridgport for the Z axis...What was never mentioned in these posts
is how they have gotten rid of the backlash from the bevel gear drive
(assuming it was used???)...Or if a whole new drive scheme was
invented...

Inquiring minds want to know!!!
