Why couldn't a person make a torsion spring-loaded handle
with some 'slop' CW & CCW coupled to fwd & rev switches
respectively. so you crank the handle one way, hit the
switch, and the screw turns in that direction, until the
switch breaks contact. As long as you continued cranking,
the screw would keep on turning in that direction. Some old
retro-fit power steering units for old farm tractors work
in this fashion (but, hydraulically).
