I have a set of his boards and am close to getting my x and y axis going on
my mill, a Grizzly 1004 small knee mill. I will report on my progress. The
newest wrinkle is the point buffer capability he has added. By feeding the
board buffer a set of time spaced points to travel to, the real time
limitations of the serial interface are not important. I am curious if EMC
can be made to output points to be fed out of a serial port into the
PicServo boards.

I have set up a three axis minimill with the jr-kerr stuff and drive them
with the step/dir output on emc. Just looking for others who have worked
with them and who wish to make a comment on their experience.
My system went together well, and works nicely for my small machine. I
don't think I would use them on anything larger than a minimill.
Have you seen the machine controller program up on their web site? It
works, but without backlash compensation its a bit useless. If I ever get
more time I would like to work on that program and make it more usable,
being that its open source.
thanks,
andrew
