Hi,

I have one of those sitting in front of me... The pin out is from left
to right looking from the 8 pin input end. The first two pins are for
the opto supply in and out. Pin 1 is in and pin 2 is out. Opto out
supplies 5V regulated. I jumper these for my steppers. Pin 3 is logic
common. That's where I connect the common for my step/ direction
inputs. Pin 4 is current reduction. If you don't need less than 2 amps
connect nothing. A resistor between pin 4 and logic common will reduce
the current to the motor. I don't connect anything to this for my
motors. pin 5 is AWO (all windings off). I don't use this pin for my
motors. Pin 6 is half step/ full step. Connect nothing for half
step... connect to logic common for full step. Pin 7 is direction.
logic high or low. Pin 8 is pulse or clock or step... different words
for the same thing. The step pulses on the negative going signal and
50 microseconds are recommended.

The power supply needs a 1000 uf capacitor between 0V and 30V.

I hope this helps you.

Clint

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/jobshophomeshop I consider this to be a
sister site to the CCED group, as many of the same members are there, for OT
