I have one on my mill at my house. The motor does not run as smooth as
it did on true 3 phase, and the power consumption is probably higher
than true 3 phase, BUT it does work and I have been using it for more
than 5 years. From what I have seen, the rotary converters run more
smoothly, and can run more than 1 machine at a time. I have seen many
plans (some on the net) for building your own out of an old 3 phase
motor. Anyone out there that has done that? Any problems or helpfull
hints? Rick
