Jeff: Not because of practical rules and safety considerations, but
because I simply had the feeling the person asking the question wanted to avoid
voltage-drop in his lines, even though they WERE only one foot (300 mm). Oh, if
I had to do that and only had some #12 stranded on hand, I'd use it, even
for a contract job. I guess I'm just over-conservative when designing.
