Hi Ian,
Encoders come in many different sizes and flavours and as I've not yet
completed this side of things and got it working I wonder if I'm the one to
answer your question. Mariss would give you the difinative answer as he is
the manufacturer of the Gecko's.
With the dollar being the way it is at the moment www.usdigital.com is
probably the place to buy new rather than messing with secondhand off Ebay
and you should buy the resolution to fit the Gecko's (200 to 400cpr), the
information is available from the website http://www.geckodrive.com/ don't
forget to consider http://www.rutex.com/home/index if you want to use higher
voltages than 80volts. They are a little more expensive.
My power supply is going to be one of those yellow 110volt site boxes which
should give 79 volts once it is rectified and smoothed.
