Hi Scott and All:
From my experience repairing a Bridgeport CNC (I believe it was
a model II) The former owner had traded it in because the Z axis had
failed a couple of times and he was tired of the expensive service
call to fix it. Upon checking with the Bridgeport service department
and talking with an old timer he told me where look and locate the
bad transistor. Once I found it and pulled the board, it cost me
more to buy a large soldering gun, big enough to do the job,
then it did for the one transistor that went bad. After that we keep
a couple spare transistor around as it would always go out right when
we needed to get parts done. So I would recommend buying a couple
extra and having them on hand. MAY THE CHIPS SOON FLY
GOD'S BLESSINGS
Bill
