Hi Paul,
Actually I'm not retrofitting an X3, I'm building a cnc router table
and I need to turn some ballscrew ends. I read in an earlier post
that volume 103 includes a description of how to drill out ballscrew
ends, insert a steel rod into the end and then turn the 'new' softer
steel end to accept a bearing. It appears that Dick's article spans
3 MEW issues (102, 103 & 104), but volume 103 (per a previous post)
appears to have all the info pertaining to the ballscrew ends. This
approach might be nice for me because I'm sure I'm going to goof up
at least a few ends, and when I do I'll just use another piece of rod
instead of making the screw progressively shorter ;-)
Regards,
Mike
