These are helical slitted couplers. I suppose they could be made on a
bandsaw,
or with a dividing head and a slitting saw. I have a bunch of them on
my CNC mill,
but I got most of them in the axis drive units I salvaged for it. W. M.
Berg has these
in their catalog, but they run $25 to $35 each, I think.
