Henrik,
Its a breakout in a sense with optos and comparators. The macropump within Mach monitors the activity and triggers a feedhold if an error is observed.
I'm not certain on how it does it in regard to speed but, if you'd like to see it operate at the numbers given, let me know. Jim of Sound Logic designed it. I just sell them and handle the support. Of course, like everything else he dreams up, it works great and tuff as nails.
Thanks, Ron

Ron,
Thanks for the clarification. I can't understand just HOW that works but if
you say so....
So what the interface is, basicly, is a breakoutboard that splits the
encoder signals between Mach3 and (if it's a servo system) the drive. + aux
relays. It's the macropump script that does the work.
I once did a spindle RPM sensor and interfaced that to Mach3. Then, with the
macropump I monitored the speed and shut down the machine if it was below a
certain speed for more than 5 samples. I could not get that to work beyond
~10kHz with Mach running @25kHz. That's why I'm so curious about this.....
Thanks again.
