Hi Ray:
Will the three inch rolles be heavy enough to handle the 4 foot
long 12 gauge stock. Are you going to gear it down to run it by hand
or have some power drive on it. What kind of electronics would you
use to get the slow rate of rotation you need to roll the sheet. I
have a four foot rolls like this and it is really geared down to roll
only 16 gauge. It would be nice to put a electronic variable speed
drive on this unit. Thanks for any information.

I beg to disagree... I've owned both Grizzly, and Harbor Freight, and
the Harbor Freight is tawdry compared to the 'Griz'... Also, The
Jet's
I've seen are even better looking than either of them! Today, I just
un-crated a 16 x 60 lathe (w/ 3.125" spindle bore) from Wholesale
Tool
Company (on sale for $7395, + $550 S/H) and I must say, this is equal
to, or better than any JET Lathe I've seen. The thing weighs in at
5700 lbs! And the weight seems to be in all the right places, too.
First major project will be a rolling mill (with slip roll) for 4ft x
12ga sheet steel. Rolls made from 3" dia barstock...
