This is a half step controller / indexer and has its own built in
programming language. Very simple to use and pretty powerful for the price.
I think its about $140. If you need something similar but need micro
stepping and the ability to drive larger motors their part #mStep-407. This
is essential an OEM Gecko drive coupled to an AMS controller.

I have used several of their products and have been pretty happy.

Take a look at the US Digital website www.usdigital.com

They have a stepper drive that appears to contain it's own pulse
generator. All you do it command on or off and forward or backwards.
I have not come up with a use, but it intriques me enough that I
have considered buying one just to play with. It is the MD2S-D with
a price of $129 in singles.
