I know this can be done in the 20 - 50 W range. There was a guy in the
St. Louis area
that was making indirect-lighting for aircraft instrument panels that
way. He used one
layer of 1/16" clear acrylic covered with 1/16" of matte black. There
were all sorts of
grooves for the wires to the grain of wheat bulbs. Very cool stuff. He
had a variable-
power flowing-gas CO2 laser.
