That's what Bobcad does for lathe as well. Just a variance of the pocketing process in the mill cad software. It looks to work ok for just doing roughing and contouring a workpiece, but I dont think it supports any threading operations. I may be wrong but, judging by what little I experimented with it, it's pretty basic for the lathe.
Guessing, alot of CadCam outfits just throw that in as an extra for sales.

P.S. Attn. Everyone that uses Bobcad, turn on the caller ID :-), I talked with them a few days ago and they informed me that Version 21 would be released in the next week or so.
