In the 5/8 series of ball screw and nuts that I have bought, they
have always had undersized and sometimes not round balls! I can only
imagine the oem application is for the thrust and not accuracy. I
always buy extra balls (boy, doesn't that just sound bad!)to reload
the nut. On my little cnc I have about .001 backlash. Pretty good
for a 23.00 nut I think! Pics are at www.cnczone.com Photo section,
RickOmatic folder. I will also be at the cnc-workshop 'tellin' lies'
and having lots of fun! www.cnc-workshop.com Rick
