I'm curious as to how others have set up their
machines.
Currently I'm building a large format milling
machine. What I'm wondering is, where do you
people put your power supplies and BB's etc. Most
likely the most similar machines to mine are
plasma machines [ due to their larger size]. I've
got a 25' parrellel port cable so, in theory, I
could put the machine power supply and BB cabinet
etc, right on the machine, plug my parrellel cable
into it and my computer. Put my computer in a
rolling cabinet and have a movable control center.
I would have to run the power cable [heavy
extention cord] for the computer along the
parrellel cable to keep things neat. Is this going
to induce some problems due to not having a
sheilded cable? Should I be putting the power
supply in the cabinet w/ the computer and BB's?
and run shielded cables [ a fair number mind you]
out along the power cable, to the machine?? There
would be everything from basic power cables to
stepper drive wires, limit switch wires, VFD power
wires.. etc.
Curious...
