W.E.T.??: [CAD_CAM_EDM_DRO] Re: motor sizing vertical slide EDM

Hi Jon, Marcus and All:
This is a very interesting discussion to me as I was thinking of
putting such a counterweight on the head of a bed mill and the effect
that it would have when pick drilling. What would happen if the
counterweight had through holes in it and set in a container of 90
weight oil? Do you think the oil would dampen it enough or am I
dreaming?

Hi Jon:
Wouldn't you be worried about having the weight oscillate at certain ram
cycle frequencies.
I can picture a 500 pound weight hammering up and down at an ever increasing
amplitude and eventually wrecking everything in its path.
Makes me nervous!!
