Thanks in advance for the effort.

Meantime, can someone advise me if I should provide (presuming X-axis) the
following to the stepper driver:
1) +5V DC to the CW+, Pin 2 (from parallel port) to CW-, and 0V DC to the
parallel port ground; or
2) Pin 2 (from parallel port) to CW+, and parallel port ground to CW- (I
have tried this option and it seems to work but I am not sure whether it is
correct or not).
