You may want to read the Tree mill retrofit that I did on my web site at
www.camtronics-cnc.com
I reused the servo motors and encoders. I scrapped all of the old scr drives
and spindle control board. I used a KB electronics speed controller for my
5HP dc spindle motor. I used three gecko G320 servo amps and a 80V 30A power
supply. The original mill would do 200 ipm. With the gecko I can only get
130 but I never run them at that. I generally run them at about 75 IPM.
