that's what I don't get, which too edges? Are we talking about square
bar or are we back to rectangular?

Not rotate around the bar but rotate in any of the other directions in
particular along the axis (read axle) you get if you draw a line
between the two rollers. You only have two small V's of contact and
although they will give some constraint in that axis I don't think it
will be very stiff and they will act as rather good levers I think.

And if that isn't good enough I'll have to fall back on "well that's
how they do it in industry" :)
