The table can be removed quickly on a Series 1. Just remove the bearing housings on both ends (8 bolts) and then slide the gib out. Remove the X ballscrew nut. It would make is much easier to move. Then remove the head at the base. Alot easier than trying to manipulate an awkward 2600 pounds.

Uh, why? The BOSS series I is no taller than a Series-I manual machine
with the varispeed head.
(Or, maybe it is a couple inches taller.) And, it really isn't a whole
lot wider than a manual
machine, either. I guess the saddle is wider, and that may prevent you
from doing the
trick with angling it through a 32" door and then swinging it through
the doorway after
cranking the table into the room.

Now, a round-ram M-head machine is a LOT shorter, and the 1J is about
8" lower than the
2J. (Due to the varispeed mechanism, the motor sits a lot higher, and
also it is a 2 Hp
instead of 1 Hp.)

You can remove the motor or the entire head from any of these machines
for moving
them. That will fix the height part. You may be right about the wall
if you have to
get it through a 32" door. It might still be possible to play the angle
it through trick,
but just slide the base to the side to get the table & saddle through.
The BOSS
machines had a much shorter table.
