I did a first experiment on making a nut, I created a single cutting
tooth at the end of one of the leadscrews and using some light oil
drove this into a drilled hole in some delrin plate. The result was a
very tight fitting thread, looking at the threads they have a perfect
form on one side of the hole and are much more shallow at the other
side. I think this makes sense, the tooth starts to cut making a full
depth thread, then once on the other side of the hole the screw moves
into this thread pulling the tooth away from the side wall. Perhaps I
can get rid of this problem by drilling the hole out for a few mm at
full screw OD so it holds it central or by changing the grinding a bit
(I just don't want to ruin the screw). It looks promising though.
