I'm guessing you are recycling your water so it is gradually becomming
ionized. In a wire EDM they pass the water through a de-ionizing
resin. I've been having a bit of a look on the web and other than the
nuclear grade stuff used in EDM there also appears to be cartidges
available for aquarium use at about $14. You can easily set up a
system that pumps water through the cartidge when the water reaches a
certain resisitiviy, the circuit it just a potential divider (one of
the resitors is two prongs in the tank) a transistor and a relay at a
minimum.
