If you want your linux machine to look like a winnt machine you have to
use samba. Actually, my
labmate is the one who sets up the samba shares. We are too lazy to get
a samba client working on
linux, so we do the work from the NT machine. With samba running on
linux, the linux boxes look just
like win boxes to the win boxes.

Networking itself is pretty easy. What you do is set up TCP/IP on all
the machines. 192.168.1.xxx is a
good address starting point for a private network. Just give each
machine a different ip address.
