Heh, yes people seem to spell skyko "skyco" and it leads to some
confusion. Skyko refers to the Skykomish river in Washinton state.
The Pixie P100 step/dir to analog controller board could work well
in your situation. As far as brushless motors go, I am getting more
and more impressed with their performance. Sitting on the table
here I have a nema 23 MBT-N233-BCNC made by API Motion. I bought 3
of them brand new on ebay for $10 to $15 each! I have this one
hooked up to a BDC-25L Electrocraft brushless amplifier and the
Pixie P100 step/dir to analog controller. The BDC-25L is really
just a rebranded AMC amplifier. The torque is jaw dropping. I
swear this little tiny nema 23 motor will break your wrist if you
grab the shaft, even with a 1.25" pulley on it for grip! Well, I
guess the peak torque rating of 40.8 in-lb helps. :-)
I plan to use this motor on the x axis of my laser engraver project,
which is waiting on a few belts and parts.
