I guess I must be the only one on this list trying to use ACAD. After buying the book and reading halfway through it, I can now answer my own question.

The command is "Edgesurf" and is a tool for creating free-formed curved surfaces. I still haven't found Bsplines but I'm sure it is in the book.

Don't you use BSplines for this sort of thing? This question coming from
someone who also has never had training in CAD.
