I am not opposed to using anything at this point. It's just that all
the posts I have read indicate that 20 Degree is the new way to go for
smoothness. But if I can get accuracy and good life expectancy from
14.5 degree then that is fine by me. I plan to spring load my final
drive pinion gear into the rack to eliminate backlash. This is my first
machine so it needs to be on the cheap. If the whole cnc thing works
out for me then the next machine will involve things like Blanchard
Grinders and Ball Screws instead of Sand Paper and Gear Racks :)
