Hi guys,
Thanks to all who responded!
I'm thinking of building a new spindle and the BT30, although a bit on the
larger side (quite a bit, actually) for my machine, seems to be a fairly
common tool holder. I found another photo of the drawbar/gripper here:

about 1/3 down on the page (very cool stuff there, BTW)
I got BT30-ER16 holder in the mail today so I guess it's time to do some
experiments.
